A rough translation of the title would be White Women. In the East of Holland they are believed to be mist ghosts. One old story tells us that all newborn babies should be protected, because if the witte wieven get their hands on him/her they will abduct it and leave a disfigured baby in its place.

Lovely.

I love old folklore... this picture fits very well with that kind of thing... I love the exposure range in this shot... a wonderful combination of light and shadow... and the mist makes it quite eerie as well... the reflections are a bit of a distraction to the scene, mostly beause they're not the focus of the shot, but they are very prominent still...

I kinda get the chills just looking at this shot... nice work. :) (Smile)

Very nice place. I can almost feel its magic through your picture. We have the same stories in France, and the ghost ladies are called "Dames Blanches".

I really like the white foggy horizon. Beautiful shot. And +fav :) (Smile)

Love it, the mist, the legend. Amazing, I want to revisit the feeling I get this sometime and maybe base a story on your photo, amazing!

Part of our higher destiny is to put love into action by challenging unjust authority, by truly caring for ourselves, for one another, and our Mother Earth.--Riane Eisler
Wow, eerie tale you accompany this beautiful shot with... they're sort of contrasted by the Banshees of the Irish legends then, female creatures that act as guardians of families and screams/cries appearing to the family members when one of the family member passes on.

Very beautifully haunting picture this is. And an equally beautifully haunting picture you have painted for me regarding the tale :) (Smile)
